Why Does the Robot Return the Piece to Its Original Position After a Move?
- When making a move, the player must wait for the robot to complete its confirmation check before the move can be executed. If using the "no takebacks" mode, the player must remove their hand from the board after placing the piece. In move confirmation mode, the "Move Confirm" button must light up in blue before the move is made. If these conditions aren't met, the robot will revert the piece to the position before the blue light was activated.
- If the player violates the move rules, the robot will automatically return the piece to its original position.
- In no takebacks mode, if the board is obstructed (for example, by the player's hand), the robot may also return the piece.
How to Talk to the Robot
To communicate with the robot, press and hold the "OK" button on the chessboard. Once the robot shows a facial expression prompt, you can start talking to it. After you finish speaking, release the "OK" button. If you wish to interrupt the response, press the "Return" button. The robot can understand and respond to content related to Go
How to Check the Robot's Version and SN Number
To Check the SN:
- You can find the SN number on the robot's bottom nameplate.
- Alternatively, go to the "System Settings" menu on the robot, select "About This Device", then click Next Page to find the 18-character device code.
To Check the Version:
Go to the "System Settings" menu on the robot, select "About This Device", and you'll find the version information there.
How to Use the Voice Interaction Feature
To use voice interaction, press and hold the "OK" button on the chessboard. This will activate the robot's voice response system. The screen will display the question you're asking and the response from the AI model. You can release the "OK" button when you're done speaking, or press the "Return" button to interrupt the response.
Important Notes:
- If the network is stable, you should receive a response within 2 seconds. If the network is poor and no response is received after 5 seconds, it will time out and show a message: "Service not responding, please try again later."
- The maximum duration for a voice request is 30 seconds. If you hold the "OK" button for more than 30 seconds, the robot will automatically stop listening and provide a response at the 30-second mark.
- This feature requires a network connection to work. It is recommended to use the voice interaction in a location with a stable network.
- Voice interaction is only available in the main menu. It is not supported in tutorials, evaluations, startup guide videos, QR code scanning screens, or AI sales modes.
How do you open and close AI Sales?
- Complete the AI Sales configuration on the backend server.
- To enter AI Sales: Press and hold the combination of the “Return” button + “Power” button for about 5 seconds to enter AI Sales mode.
- To exit AI Sales mode: While in Sales mode, press and hold the combination of the “Return” button + “Power” button for about 5 seconds to exit AI Sales mode.
When Can the Player Start Making Moves?
There are two types of move modes that can be switched in the System Settings -> Game Settings. The default mode is Move Confirmation.
- Move Confirmation Mode: After the robot makes a move, the Move Confirm button on the chessboard will light up in blue. The player must press the "Move Confirm" button to make their move.
- No Regret Mode: In this mode, the player does not need to press a confirmation button. Simply place the piece and move your hand away from the board to confirm the move.
How to Undo a Move?
Undoing moves is not supported
How Long Does It Take for the Robot to Set Up the Chessboard?
The robot will only automatically set up the game in the AI Practice Exercises mode. The setup time depends on the number of pieces on the board.
Power Usage Duration and Potential for Natural Damage
The likelihood of natural damage to the power supply is low. However, if the adapter shows no visible damage but the robot fails to power on, it is recommended to send the entire unit for inspection and testing.
This will ensure any underlying issues with the power supply or internal components are properly addressed.
Device fault diagnosis
How to fix piece placement misalignment or edge pressure?
- Check if the chessboard and the machine’s clips are tightly aligned and if the board is placed flat.
- If the board was moved after powering on, exit the game and restart it.
- During use, avoid touching the robot’s chessboard camera or the camera rod.
What to do if the robotic arm fails to pick up a piece (empty grab)?
- Check if the chessboard and the machine’s clips are securely attached and ensure the board is level.
- If the chessboard was moved after powering on, exit the game and restart it.
- Simultaneously placing pieces by both the user and the robot may cause empty grabs.
What to do if the robotic arm doesn’t move after placing pieces?
- Ensure the chessboard is level and the data cable is properly connected.
- On the robot's main menu screen, move the robotic arm. If the robot responds with “Please don’t touch my little arm; if it breaks, I won’t be able to play with you anymore,” this indicates the arm and camera are functioning normally.
- If the robot gets stuck on the startup screen after a power cycle and does not proceed to the main menu, the chessboard camera may be broken and needs to be returned for inspection.
- If the chessboard camera’s calibration parameters are missing, it will require a factory recalibration.
What to do if the robot reports “There is an obstruction on the chessboard”?
- Check if there are any obstructions on the chessboard grid area. If so, remove the obstruction, and the issue should resolve automatically.
- If there are no obstructions but the robot continues to report an obstruction, try restarting the machine to resolve the issue. Alternatively, you may need to enable data flow for analysis (turn on the “User Experience Improvement Plan” in the mobile app and provide the robot’s SN).
What to do if there is a misjudgment of the piece's position in "No Undo" mode?
In the "No Undo" mode, as long as there are no obstructions, the robot will assume a move has been made once the piece is placed. To avoid misjudgments:
- Ensure your hand remains on the chessboard until the piece is in its final position, and only remove your hand after the move is confirmed.
- Special caution is needed if you briefly hold the piece near the edge of the board. The robot may mistakenly detect the piece and think it has been moved, even if it hasn’t been placed yet.
- In case of such a misjudgment, you can press the “Return” button to undo the move and correct the position.
What to do if the "Move Confirm" button light on the chessboard turns off?
- First, check if the "No Undo" feature is enabled. Go to "System Settings" → "Game Settings" and confirm whether the "No Undo" function is turned on. If enabled, the light will turn off; if disabled, the light will be on.
- Check the Type-C connection cable on the chessboard to ensure it is properly connected. Try unplugging and reconnecting it to confirm a good connection.
What to do if the chessboard is mistakenly reported as blocked during the game?
- Check if there are any objects obstructing the chessboard. After making a move, ensure your hand is completely removed from the board.
- In "No Undo" mode, the system expects the move to be completed within 10 seconds. If not, it may incorrectly report a blockage.
What to do if the robot's claw bumps or touches other pieces during a game?
- The robot's mechanical arm needs to open the claw to pick up pieces. If two pieces are placed too close together, the claw may accidentally touch other nearby pieces, especially flat-topped pieces like the "rook" or "queen."
- To avoid this issue, it's recommended to manually move the pieces apart or place them in their correct positions. Avoid clustering pieces together to make it easier for the robot to pick them up.
What to do if the robot's forearm doesn't lift during the piece setup process?
- When the robot is powered on for the first time, the forearm should automatically lift. If it doesn't, try turning the power off and on again to reset the system.
- After the forearm has been lifted, users should avoid manually pressing down on it. Pressing down could affect the robot's ability to pick up and place pieces correctly.
What to do if some buttons on the robot are not working (e.g., only the down or right button works, but up, left, or return buttons don't)?
- Unplug and replug the USB connection between the chessboard and the robot.
- If the issue persists, try reversing the direction of the USB cable connection. This should restore normal button functionality.
